Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips

Hey all! Today we have a special surprise for you! It is Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips! YAY! So, the advertising gimmick on this one is that you can have a total salon look with 'easily applicable' nail polish strips. So is this all true? Let's find out!
So we bought these for 11 dollars at a CVS drugstore, in the Fly with Me design. So, 11 dollars for one manicure, right? It's cheaper than going to a slon, that's for sure, and the designs are really cool and consistent. So it's definitely worth a try, but I don't think it's practical to have these on all the time.

Okay, so application is pretty simple, since the package has everything packed in nice and tight. They basically come in different shaped strips that you press onto your nail and then file off. Easy enough.

Wear is also pretty good. My sister had this manicure on for about a 8 days before she finally just got sick of having the same old thing on her nails (one of the many signs of a polish-holic!). The designs themselves are also really cool. We were originally looking for the laced desin, Laced Up, but since that was sold out we decided to go for this one. However, I'm confused by the fact that they have normal, plain colors like blue, green, and pink. What's the point of spending 11 dollars for plain nails, while you could just buy a bottle for $8.50 or something and get many manicures? All in all, I think that these are cool to try, but don't make it a regular thing.

Old NPs!(:

Today, while going through our nail polish, I found some old bottles! They were Mac, Wild and Crazy, Wet Seal, NYC, GAP, and a super old Estee Lauder that barely even works. The formula on that one is super sticky and goopy, so it's BARELY manageable. But it is manageable, and that's what counts! I will post some pictures up later, but I have to say that the MAC one is my absolute favorite. It is a crazy tan/pearl color that changes with the sun and dries matte. It's practically perfection. oh, and did I mention that it's only 1 COAT? Of course, I added another one just in case. Pictures of the ones that I decide should be posted will be up soon! How many of you were surprised by the oldies in your nail polish collection? Mine are all from odd brands...what about yours?

You guessed it-another Konad manicure!

Hey! This is a manicure from awhile back. My sister was playing around and just came up with this! She painted half of her nail diagonally Chanel Inattendu and the other half Jade is the New Black by OPI, then stamped a white Konad design through the middle. While playing with it further, she stamped flowers with Jade is the New Black. For the stripe design down the middle, we used Konad White special polish. Enjoy!(:

Chanel Konad manicure!

Hey guys! Today we have a manicure that is Chanel's Inattendu, I believe. The sticker on the label has begun to wear off, so I'm not certain. This manicure reminds me alot of France, with the slightly nude color and the black floral/lace stamping print. The color, Inattendu, covered well with three coats, and is a peachy nude color that I love. This is our only Chanel color, and I think that we're going to start investing in more Chanel polishes!

Valentines Day mani

On Valentines day, Fallon sported a hot pink mani with different black konad stampings. The color we used is OPI India Mood for Love (how fitting!). For the Konad stamping we used Konad's special black nail polish. India Mood for Love covered well and was opaque with three coats. The heart on the thumb has some OPI Sparkalicious, and so does the ring finger. Sorry the lighting is so bad, our chandelier takes awhile to heat up to get full lighting.

Essie Lapis of Luxury with Konad

Hey there. Today we have a manicure feautring Essie's Lapis of Luxury and Konad image plates. It took 3 coats to get Lapis of Luxury opaque, and we used black Konad special polish for the stamping. You can find Lapis almost anywhere Essie is sold; it's a popular color. It is definitely one of our favorite pastels, and reminds us of the candied wedding almonds because of the pastel color. The Konad stamp was repeated twice on the nail, and is pretty 90's looking.
